Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities reported they were contacted by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A senior official said the attack rendered him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
